A Cap
The Capping Day was an annual event after the Tripod Invasion when 14-year-olds of a village were Capped by a Tripod. In the TV series, the age for Capping was 17. The capping ceremony, besides ensuring everyone was capped, was also a coming-of-age ceremony, and being Capped signified a person's transition from child to adult.
